The Wheel of Life: A Guide to Balanced Living
Have you ever heard of The Wheel of Life?
It’s one of the tools I use in my coaching sessions to help my clients get a bird's-eye view of their life and where they may want to focus their personal development efforts. The idea is to not only assess the current state of your life but also to track changes, improvements, or areas that might need more attention over time.
Understanding the Wheel: The Wheel of Life is typically divided into various segments, each representing a key area of one's life, such as Health, Career, Relationships, Finances, Personal Growth, Recreation, Environment, and Spirituality (though the categories can vary).
Initial Assessment: Rate Your Satisfaction: For each segment, rate your current level of satisfaction on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being completely dissatisfied and 10 being fully satisfied).
Plot on the Wheel: Draw a line or shade the segment up to the point that corresponds with your satisfaction level.
Reflection: Look at the shape formed by your ratings. Is it a balanced wheel, or are there areas that dip more than others? This gives you a visual representation of areas in your life that might need more attention & you can set goals from there.
